This is an area for EMS Educators who live or work in region 2 to discuss concerns or ideas with others who live or work in the area.  If you are unsure of which region you live or work in, click here to view a region map.  We hope that members in region 2 will use this area to provide support and information to other EMS educators in the area.

We are considering holding SMEMSIC regional meetings during 2010 to update members on State education issues and to offer some Training with a M&E credit.  More information will be available at the general membership meeting.  Let me know if this would be something you would be interested in attending.

I would certainly be interested in something regional.   I must also voice another concern after attending the Spring 2010 conference.    It appears to me, though I might be biased, that the Society leans towards paramedic transporting information as opposed to the MFR and Basic personnel (that comprise most of the licensed personnel in Michigan.)  Maybe I'm wrong...it's happened before!   Or maybe I shouldn't say much as I have not taken the initiative to run for the board or get on any of the committees.  Time does not allow for me to do that.  There, it's off my chest now.  Thanks.

Hello Robert, we are working on locations for regional meetings so let me know if you have any ideas on possible meeting locations.  Also, I would be interested in hearing more about how we can better meet the needs of basic personnel.  While most of the credits at our conferences are IC credits, we do offer provider credits when a session applies to that type of credit.  I am glad to see you voiceing your concerns here as that is what these forums are for.  You can feel free to email me with more information or just post it here.  Let me know your ideas on what session or sessions at the spring conference could have had more basic focus.  We are always looking for input from conference attendees.  Thanks again for your input and I look forward to hearing further from you.  Tom.

    Pre-hospital hypothermia induction.

Seeking if anyone in Region 2 is providing this to patients in the field and any data that you could share in patient care outcomes (out of hospital discharge) and any feedback you may feel that is pertinent.

Discussion of implementing this patient care PTCL in Genesee County is underway and would like to share this with the Ad-hoc committee members. Thank you.

I'm a 'new' instructor at KCC in Battle Creek - I taught labs there years ago, but I say 'new' because I let my old I/C lapse! I would be interested in training and CEs in this type of venue as it would allow me to meet other instructors in the state. Always looking for good ideas to use in class!
